StreamShuttle was born out of a frustrating quest to find a simple, private, and secure video monitoring solution that also had all the features you would expect from a modern NVR. The journey to creating StreamShuttle began with a personal mission to find a solution that met my needs without the complexities and compromises in the existing options.
After exploring many alternatives, it became clear that most choices were either overly complicated to set up and manage or lacked essential features. Some might have dismissed my concerns about privacy and avoiding "the giants" in the industry. However, not only could I not get over these privacy concerns, but the recurring monthly charges and hardware dependencies imposed by these companies were equally unsettling.
I reluctantly adopted one of these solutions for a period, facing the reality that the security system I envisioned simply didn't exist. It wasn't until after having many friends and family approach me for advice in setting up their own security systems, and me not having a single decent recommendation, that I decided to create something of my own. While I could have coped with the complexities of the existing solutions (not that I wanted to), recommending any of them to others was out of the question.
Thus, the journey toward StreamShuttle's inception began. My goal for StreamShuttle is to evolve into a comprehensive hub for educating and managing all aspects of video surveillance and security, catering to both personal and business needs.
